I confess that I do so love living Downeast during the Spring Fall and Winter. We tend to run long and far, looking for adventure. In the summer, we stay much closer to home. The long lines and traffic keep me away from the big tourist destinations. And it seems only the really hearty souls come up this way. I've had more than one person tilt her head at me when I tell her I live past Bar Harbor -- as if there isn't anything past Bar Harbor. But for those willing to make the drive, there's fresh lobster and hallibut and raspberry pies and blueberries for miles around. And there are endless hiking trails that few have found. But I won't say it too loud. I do enjoy the secret.
