Pitcher plants

Peat Bog Walk

There's a peat bog near where we live. Everything is in miniature. Trees that usually grow to a dozen feet or more are only a foot or two tall. I felt like Gulliver walking through Lilliput. But the much cooler thing in my mind are the pitcher plants. There are several varieties of carnivorous plants, but these are by far the most beautiful.

Of course there is a lighthouse and spectacular ocean views. And of course there are hiking trails and plenty of photo opportunities. It's a little known park, but it's worth a visit. http://www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/doc/parksearch/details.pl?park_id=10
